As well as creating beautiful artwork, Melanie is the finest art teacher I know. Her personal, thoughtful teaching style and extensive artistic knowledge played a key part in helping me become the artist I am today. An opportunity to learn from her should not be passed up - Oliver Stockley
Thank you for the beautiful pictures that you delivered today - even the packaging was amazing. The larger picture is already above the fireplace and I can’t stop staring at it - Many thanks, it certainly will be treasured - Karen
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your recent exhibition at Chapel Arts, which was stunning, and how happy I am to have one of your gorgeous pictures - Autumn 1 - in my possession. It gives me enormous pleasure to see it every time I come into the house! - Patricia
The commissioning process was easy, I met with Melanie and outlined how I felt about her painting and I wanted on my own wall. I was keen for her to be inspired by the countryside around her and a particular spot on a wooded hillside.
Throughout the process Melanie continually emailed me pictures of her preliminary photos, pencil and water colour sketches, as well as the final work … in progress on her easel.
And the painting itself is enchanting. It takes me straight to that tranquil hillside beech wood, where the spring light filters across the valley and through the leaves. Melanie’s sensitive use of negative space brings a real balance to the composition. It provokes and stimulates my emotions, capturing the essence of this place so close to me. At home, the painting is a real focal point bringing the trees outside in, mirroring the views from the windows and bringing a sense of peace to the room. - Kingston Upon Thames
